Brady Peterson, Microtia and Atresia

Hello. We are the Peterson family from Marshfield, Wisconsin. Our son Brady was born with Microtia and Atresia. This means he was born with a small left ear with no open ear canal. After we had brought him home from the hospital we soon began to discover that he could not hear out of his left ear.Come to find out after hearing tests, he is deaf in his left ear. We were at a loss for words. We had so many questions with no answers, and no one to talk to. That is when we met the Wilke Family from Beaver Dam, Wisconsin.

We are so thankful for the Wilke family. They answered so many of our questions that no one knew the answers to. Brady and I got to meet Tiffany and her son Manny. Manny is just like Brady and has Microtia. Manny had something Brady did not have, a Bone Conductiong Hearing Aid (BAHA). We immediatly tried Manny's BAHA on Brady and he could hear. It brings tears to my eyes remembering that very moment. We now needed a BAHA for Brady.

We fought with the Insurance Company and after many attempts, we finally got one. We should not have to fight with Insurance Companys so our children can hear. People take hearing for granted, but when you have a child that can not hear, or is struggling to hear, it changes everything.
